Super Mega Raids are a new type of raid challenge released during the Pokémon GO Tour Kalos Global Event. February 28, 2026. Regular Mega Raids will also continue to be part of the regular rotation and players will still be able to participate.

Pokemon in Super Mega Raid higher CP value Better than a regular Mega Raid (which is already powerful enough) Super Mega Raid Battle.

The damage these bosses inflict is also significantly increased, so trainers may want to calculate more than just type advantage and resistance and add a lineup optimized for tanking out and dealing damage at the same time.

Pokémon GO Adds Controversial Mega Raid Currency

Controversial new currency leak related to Pokémon GO and Mega Raids

A recent Pokemon GO leak suggests that a new currency could soon be added to the mobile game, specifically Mega Raids.

Additionally, Super Mega Pokémon become enraged (similar to Shadow Raids) and gain a shield that must be taken down to continue dealing damage.

When a Super Mega Raid Boss becomes enraged, Trainer Pokémon are instantly KOed, and players can only break one shield per person at a time. Once all shields are gone, the enraged Pokémon returns to normal for the remainder of the raid.

What Players Need to Acquire Link feeThis is the currency needed to participate in Mega Raids to challenge Super Mega Raids. Each Super Mega Raid costs 150 to participate, and this currency can be earned in the following ways:

  • by completing Weekly Challenge

  • by opening a gift from another trainer

  • by Attending the Campfire App meeting

  • purchase In the in-game store using PokeCoins

You can purchase 200 Link Charges with 100 Poke Coins, and there is also a regular promotion selling 600 Link Charges with 300 Poké Coins.

Players can also participate in Super Mega Raids using the Premium Battle Pass. However, participating remotely in Super Mega Raids requires both a link fee and a premium Battle Pass. Therefore, we do not recommend using third-party apps to join remotely and instead focus on the in-game Campfire app to find your team.

Best Strategy to Beat Mega Dragonite in Pokemon GO

To beat Mega Dragonite in Super Mega Raids, players will need to be very careful about how they deploy their Pokemon teammates. Super Mega Dragonite enrages and destroys all activated Pokemon, including Mega Evolved Pokemon. Losing a Mega immediately means a complete failure of the raid, so here's what players need to do:

  • As players already know, you can only have one Mega Evolution (Primary Attacker/Shield Breaker) active per team, and it's important to have that Mega Pokémon (or similar forms like Crown Shield Zacian or Crown Sword Zamazenta) as the last member of your team. It's not the first thing to fall when the fight starts..

  • Once the Shield Phase begins, players must deploy the Mega at the right moment and use it to take down the Mega Dragonite's shield.

  • Keep attacking and coordinate your shield break with the rest of the trainers in the raid to make sure the shield break is broken and cancel the enrage phase.

Of course, having the perfect counter to Super Mega Dragonite will help players deal more damage and increase their contribution efficiently while the Raid is active. Here are some suggestions for lineups:

If the player does not have these Pokemon, they can of course replace them with either the normal version (in the case of the Shadow Pokemon suggested in the raid) or one of the following Pokemon, which can deal significant damage to Mega Dragonite.

  • Weville

  • Gartsov

  • Galarian Darmanitan

  • Regis

  • Aurorus

Remember: it's highly unlikely that a Super Mega Raid can be taken down in just one round, and players will likely have to heal their team and rejoin after being deleted (multiple times). Bring plenty of revive and healing items to keep your team in tip-top shape.
