Whether you're a seasoned veteran of Soulsborne and Soulslike games, or a player who's never taken a breather about the direction of those titles, Elden Ring's The world has some hard (and less difficult) lessons to learn. Torrent Unlock
Realize that you don't have to follow a linear path.
For the first time in a FromSoftware game, players were introduced to a mount called Torrent. This adorable creature is given to you by Melina in Gatefront Ruins Grace, and is easy to miss if you don't specifically follow Grace's instructions. It is entirely possible for the player to exit the tutorial area and instead of walking forward, turn right and head back towards the Weeping Peninsula. In any case, once players have a mount, they can quickly explore many locations in Limgrave and beyond, and even as far as Caelid.
If you wish, you can also take a hidden shortcut past Stormveil Castle to Lake Liurnia. This will allow you to skip two of the non-optional bosses. Of course, you'll have to return to Stormveil Castle to progress, but it's a cool concept to be able to get past such an important location or even beat some major bosses out of thin air. This gives the game a ton of flexibility, something you haven't seen in FromSoftware's previous games, which have left you at a loss.

You learn that you can come back later when you are stronger.
Many players will have the mentality that they must defeat whatever enemy stands in their way. Elden Ring We quickly challenge this concept by setting up the Tree Sentinel right after one of the first graces that rest after exiting the tutorial area. There are definitely some players who can defeat this boss right out of the gate, but most new players will have a hard time banging their heads against the wall.
