How to Beat a Tinpot Dictator
Step 1: Automaton
You're almost at the end of this dungeon when you reach the floor where two enemies are guarding the path to the next room. After fighting two low-risk guards, you'll enter an area where the Tinpot Dictator awaits. The angel statue would have been in its previous location, so be sure to check it out. Save your game and restore HP and MP before engaging in this battle..
You can see the Tinpot Dictator up front, but you can't actually fight him. He will try to stop you with his automata before confronting you directly. Standing nearby. So the first technical phase of this boss fight involves fighting three challenging automatons.
After defeating the Automaton, you'll immediately engage in a Tinpot Dictator battle. There is another step to this battle.. So if you're not ready for three fights in a row or are having a hard time making progress, you can adjust the difficulty settings in the main menu as a last resort.

Stage 2: Tinpot Dictator

When the fight starts, Tinpot Dictator will turn the situation in his favor by summoning two automatons to fight by his side.. You need to target the Automaton first.
After a few more turns, The Tinpot Dictator will re-summon the Automaton, so you'll face a boss with four of them if you haven't dealt with the first two yet.. Ideally, use multi-target attacks to hit all automatons. This means that it can also slowly damage the Tinpot Dictator at the same time.
Tinpot Dictator commands the Automatons to focus on a single party member.So protect that party member and avoid anything that might lower their defense, like Kiefer's Royal Flush ability.
Even though Tinpot Dictator is the biggest threat Have the party finish off all the automatons first. Before targeting him. Deal with them the same way you did in the fight just before this one. Once that's resolved, you can focus on Tinpot Dictator. At this point he should not summon any more Automatons before you finish this fight.
Tinpot Dictator can occasionally use multiheal to heal himself and any remaining automatons.However, it doesn't provide any significant healing, so don't panic if you see it.
After focusing only on Tinpot Dictator The only things to watch out for are his standard attacks and Sap.. Tinpot Dictator uses sap to lower defense, so Counter this by using the hero/player character's buff skill on the same party member..
Once the automaton is gone, he's not much of a threat. While your hero heals and buffs everyone, keep chipping away at his health with your party members.. Once you've dealt enough damage, he'll enter a short cutscene before starting the third phase of the fight.
Step 3: Slowomathon
Unfortunately, work on Tinpot Dictator isn't finished yet. If it looks like you've defeated the Tinpot dictator; The battle shifts to the third and final phase against Slauughtomaton.. But fortunately, this step is not as difficult as the last one. You don't even have to worry about other automatons joining the fight.
If you fail the battle at this stage and pay a cost to retry the battle, You are not forced to redo the first two steps.
