From Virgil Watkins, Lead Designer at Embark Studios. ARC Raiders Players will be informed of upcoming changes to ARC enemies, including the Stella Montis exclusive Shredder. After large-scale launch on October 30, 2025, ARC Raiders has been able to maintain strong momentum in 2026 thanks to ongoing updates, new content, and limited-time events. Going forward, Embark seems to have more plans aimed at retaining its player base.
Embark Studios, known as Escalation, ARC Raiders The Headwinds update launched on January 23rd and added new matchmaking options and map conditions for players, but February's Shrouded Sky content appears to be much more substantial with new ARC enemies, Raider Deck, map updates, and more. March's Flashpoint will bring an update to fan-favorite rooster Scrappy, along with another new map condition and ARC enemy. Finally, April's Riven Tides gives players brand-new maps and conditions, as well as a brand-new, massive ARC threat that could very well be the rumored Emperor. In addition to these large content releases, Embark will continue to deliver updates, cosmetics, and other changes to keep players guessing.
The free loadout for ARC Raiders may be changing, say the developers.

ARC Raiders Shredder Possibly Escapes Stella Montes
In an interview, Embark Studios' Virgil Watkins discussed how the studio is considering ways to keep things interesting for players who have seemingly developed strategies and figured out easy counterattack patterns to ease the difficulty of fighting endgame level bosses. ARC Raiders. during ARC Raiders The design lead admitted that the studio is currently happy with the current loop of how players will approach these key enemies, in between crafting specific equipment to take on Queens and Matriarchs. However, Watkins felt that the current loop would not last forever in terms of keeping players engaged.
Part of “mixing it up” means adding new variations to existing experiences or finding ways to “expand the player’s experience on the PvE side” of the game. For example, Watkins mentioned Stella Montis' current Shredder ARC enemy. The robots currently exist exclusively on that map, but Watkins teased, “I think that's a promise. They'll figure out how to get out of there eventually.” Embark evolves the world and strategies players must use, allowing Shredder to roam freely in different maps, such as the narrow streets of the Buried City or the restricted underground areas of the Blue Gate. Imagine these enemies stalking even subway tunnels, adding great difficulty to those trying to escape.
But moving the shredder outside of Stella Montis is likely an easier solution compared to other updates the studio is considering. The studio is careful not to ruin the game by making too many radical changes, but players will soon discover common enemies of the “variant” type roaming the streets and fields. Embark is currently looking at tweaks to certain enemies, such as the Wasp, to change the expected behavior of players, while also ensuring that these new enemy types actually serve a purpose in the game's ecosystem. Rather than simply repainting enemies for the sake of their presence, Embark does something a little different and with purpose.
Watkins was also careful not to confirm too many new details, especially when discussing the idea of introducing another “six-legged giant spider robot.” Players may have seen the giant ARC mech moving around in the background of the map. It appears to tower over the current enemies in the game. known to ARC Raiders Once you become emperor in your community, these giant machines will soon be hunting you down. This heralds the arrival of a new large-scale ARC enemy, as evidenced by one of the key points in April's Riven Tides content. For now, players will have to wait for official news from Embark, but it's clear that the studio wants players to stay on their toes and see their combat strategies evolve with each new update.
