Earlier this week, Embark rolled out its first major content update of the year. ARC Raiders. The highly anticipated Headwinds patch officially kicks off the game's 2026 roadmap, with significant new updates scheduled to be released each month between January and April. The first version was released on January 27 and added a controversial new 1v3 matchmaking option, a Buried City-specific map modifier, a new store bundle, various bug fixes, and general improvements. Unfortunately, due to the inconvenient timing of the event globally, it seems like a large portion of the community hasn't had a chance to check out the new Bird City map modifier yet.

ARC Raiders want a schedule change to map conditions.

Bird City is the latest map modifier. ARC RaidersIt joins games like Electro Magnetic Storm, Launch Tower Loot, Lush Blooms, and more. However, it appears to have reignited fan disappointment regarding the timing of this minimap event, with players calling for Embark to change to a more dynamic schedule. In a new post on Reddit, one user received over 1,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments after calling the new Bird City map modifier a “non-starter” for people in the GMT time zone who work full-time. This event takes place in-game between 8AM – 9AM, 4PM – 5PM, and 12AM – 1AM, making it nearly impossible to play during standard 9-5 working hours. “I wish Embark would consider a dynamic schedule to give everyone around the world a chance to participate in every game mode,” the user said.

Clearly this user is not the only one feeling the same frustration, as hundreds of other commenters agree that something needs to change. “I will literally never be able to participate in the event,” said one fellow player in the US EST time zone. They then said they should rotate or change the schedule for an hour or two each night to make it fair for everyone. This has been a common complaint for quite some time, with one user writing, “I don’t mind seeing this complaint every day. [Embark] Change it.”

ARC Raiders It was released late last year, but that's not the only demand from players. Now that most players have reached max level with tons of rare gear and weapons, many have been calling for Embark to add high-value raids. ARC RaidersAvoid using free loadouts. The studio acknowledged the request and admitted it had considered the idea, but fans were disappointed with this week's Headwinds update after it added 1v3, a new matchmaking option that literally no one asked for.

Some items were accidentally changed due to the update. ARC Raiders Fans quickly noticed that Kettle and Venator had their fire rates reduced. Thankfully, Embark said this wasn't something the studio intended to change and they released a hotfix update the very next day to revert these changes. However, fans have also noticed that looting has become much slower since update 1.13.0, but Embark has stated that this is an intentional change and that the speed at which loot is released was not accurate prior to the patch.
