Arc Raiders addresses accidental increase in loot reveal times

Arc Raiders' Headwinds update introduces several new features to the game, including a solo vs. squad mode, trophy display projects, new enhancements, and tons of rubber duckies. However, as with all video game updates, some things didn't go as planned. Players have reported a sharp increase in loot reveal times despite having the Looter's Luck skill.

Some players even thought that Embark implemented the nerf in secret without including it in the patch notes. Now the developers have revealed that the loot reveal times were accidentally increased and were not part of the original plan. Developer Embark wrote on the game's Discord channel that the team is aware of this and that it was unintentional.

If you happened to get to the top ranks shortly after Arc Raiders' Headwinds update went live, you may have noticed that the loot icons are taking longer than usual to appear. Unlike other games, Arc Raiders builds tension and simulates the search by revealing loot one by one. As community manager Birdie wrote, this nerf doesn't seem to be part of the plan (thanks GamesRadar). “The team knows this because it wasn’t intended.”

This means that a hotfix will be released soon to resolve the issue. Looting is a core tenet of Arc Raiders, and changing the speed at which loot is revealed can cause some problems. There are already a few posts complaining about this on the game's subreddit, but knowing it was an accident will probably calm things down.

The biggest change in the update is the new Solo vs Squad mode, which allows raiders level 40 and above to join the squad queue and take on a numerical disadvantage. If you do so, you will receive an additional 20% bonus XP upon completing the round. So, if you like raid skills, this mod is for you. However, it may be a good idea to wait a while until the loot reveal time is set first.
