Sands of Time video posted by Ubisoft

Ubisoft is currently trying to stop a massive leak of a private presentation for the canceled Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake being shared online. The presentation lasted over an hour and showed the developers discussing details about the game, including some of the changes from the original.

The video in question is from a screen recording of the presentation taken by one of the attendees who appeared to be part of the focus group. The video was unedited, showing the faces of the developer and attendees, and even included a warning from the developer that attendees should not share with the public what they learned from the presentation.

We watched the video before it was deleted, and it revealed a few details we didn't know about before. First of all, it was confirmed that the rumors were true, and Yuri Lowenthal (or his original actor Nolan North) was no longer playing the prince. It was also confirmed that Farah would be played by Eman Ayaz, who previously spoke about her experience having one of her projects cancelled, although she couldn't mention Prince of Persia by name.

The video was clearly from an early build of the game and mostly showed cinematics. The number of actors recording motion capture continues to decline.

During the presentation, attendees also heard that the remake would include two new locations, inspired by cut content from the original release. There were also a few changes to combat, such as Farah being more active and not needing the player's protection. In the case of the prince, his age was raised to 19 in the remake, making him a little older.

It's no surprise that Ubisoft took quick action here. This was not simply gameplay footage released online, but a full, confidential presentation given by staff to attendees who were instructed not to share the information provided. Still, it's a shame that those who worked on the game, whether as developers or actors, will never see the light of day unless it goes through a leak like this.

The footage appears to be from 2024, potentially from the same presentation reported in November 2025. At the time, only 10 minutes of the presentation were shared, explaining some character changes and different actors in the lead roles compared to what was previously confirmed.
