Luffy is one of the most charismatic protagonists in anime. You'll find plenty of boy protagonists with the positive outlook and cheerful attitude that fans love about Captain Straw Hat, but there's something about Luffy that draws people to him, both in the world and as readers.
For better or worse, Luffy rarely takes no for an answer when it comes to recruiting crew members. This brings some interesting characters to the mix. one piece Main cast. However, as great a recruiter as Luffy is, some fans may have been disappointed to see these characters not officially join the crew.
6 characters who will shine in One Piece Elbaf
All of these characters will play a big role in the Elbaf Arc by the end of it.
bartholomew
Considering how much he respects Luffy, you'd think Bartholomew would have been willing to join the Straw Hat Pirates. He has a deep respect for Luffy and has shown that he is willing to go to extremes to protect his reputation.
Bartolomeo is already a close associate of the Straw Hat Pirates and serves as the captain of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. However, this does not count him as part of the actual crew. He would have been a great addition to the gang, but right now it's unknown if he'll get that opportunity again.
Marco
As the former commander of the 1st Division of the legendary Whitebeard Pirates, Marco will almost certainly make those he joins better. He has years of experience, has an amazing devil fruit, and is a smart and calm person who is able to face a crisis.
It would have been poetic for one of Ace's old colleagues to join his older brother on the trip. Marco would have been a great asset to the production team and could have shared Luffy and Ace's story. He's helped them from afar, but he doesn't seem destined to join their ranks anytime soon.
carrot
many one piece Fans thought Carrot would join the team, but sadly that didn't happen. A key ally of the Straw Hats in the Whole Cake Island Saga, Carat's unique abilities and cheerful innocence make her an interesting potential crew member.
We know that Carrot will certainly get along well with the rest of the crew and that her Sulong form will come in handy in numerous battles to come. For whatever reason, Oda felt it was best for him not to join, and fans will always wonder why.
Perona
From a design and personality standpoint, the Perona would have provided a fun addition to the crew. She was much more immature and dramatic than the rest of the crew, which was fun to watch. The interactions with Zoro are great, but it would have been nice to see him interact more with characters like Franky or Brook.
Her Devil Fruit, Horo Horo no Mi, is one of the most interesting in the series, and pairing it with Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika and Robin's Hana Hana no Mi would have been even scarier for the crew to handle. She has a connection to Zoro, so she will always be associated with the Straw Hats, but like many characters in the series, she will help from afar.
trafalgar law
Considering his personality, Law would never join Luffy's crew, even though Luffy definitely wanted him to join. Although it's by no means long-term, the interactions we saw between Luffy and the other Straw Hats were a fun glimpse into what could have happened.
In addition to his incredible chemistry with the crew, Law would likely bring incredible leadership skills and medical skills to rival Chopper's. That said, you can see why this was never intended. Having already taken on the roles of captain and medic, Law was always going to be a temporary ally.
bone clay
Bon Clay has always been a fan-favorite character, and countless fans would love to see him join Luffy and the rest of the gang for good. Like Robin, he worked on Crocodile and would have been a great addition to the crew, just like her. He has great chemistry with Luffy, and we've already seen how well he gets along with most of the Straw Hats.
We know he's a loyal ally to Luffy and giving his Mane Mane no Mi to the crew would have made for an interesting situation later in the series, but things just didn't line up that way. Even if he doesn't join the Straw Hats, it would be really nice to have him and the Straw Hats reunite.
Yamato
This still stings some people. many one piece Fans expected Yamato to be the newest addition to the Straw Hat Pirates, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Yamato would join the Straw Hats, considering his important role in the Wano Country saga and his power and desire to see the world like their idol, Oden.
But Yamato's decision to remain in Wano and watch over Momonoskue certainly makes sense for the character, even if it's a little disappointing. Yamato will always be a strong ally for the Straw Hats, and if he's lucky, he'll play a key role in the series' final game. Adding a new fan-favorite character (like Loki) could ease this character's pain, but Yamato will always feel like the Straw Hats at their best potential.
