If you've logged into Fortnite at any point in the last 48 hours, you've likely seen a mass version of Ed, Edd n Eddy running around. Or The Office's Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute's latest collaboration in an endless live-service battle royale.
But while it's cool to see Dwight and his mustard yellow shirt teaming up with Goku and Butters, it's Ed who's actually making the biggest waves, especially when it comes to memes.
For example, here's Ed using the 6-7 emote:
For what it's worth, 6-7 is the exact kind of thing Eddy would have hit if the show was still on.
Because the “Bet Your Sweet Bippy” meme is probably the meme that everyone has the most fun recreating.
Then there's one social media user who took Ed's gameplay from Fortnite and combined it with the strange, out-of-this-world sound effects commonly seen on the TV show.
Somehow, they don't feel out of place in Fortnite.
If that wasn't hilarious enough, someone came up with the idea that the best of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network animation might now be combined together. In particular, pairing Ed with SpongeBob SquarePants' sidekick is a duo that children of the early 2000s could never have imagined.
The downside is that Ed is the only one representing his show in the game. However, fans have found hope that this won't be the end of the Ed, Edd n Eddy collaboration.
Edd without Eddy, it's not a collaboration between Edd and Eddy.
As first shared on Twitter, the Ed costume is considered “part of the Ed, Edd n Eddy set” in-game. This gave hardcore fans hope that they might see Eddy or Double D at some point in the future.
The first character, Ed, makes a lot of sense as he is the most memorable of the trio. However, if neither Edd nor Eddy were planned, it seemed like they should have been included in the initial bundle. Instead, Ed is a solo roster member equipped with Plank backbling and the Jawbreaker pickaxe.
Ultimately, only time will tell if another Ed will join the game. If not, perhaps as an assistant? Either way, make sure the meme lasts a long time.
