The Techmarine in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 can perform automatic gun attacks.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been going live the right way. New chapter cosmetics, game modes, and PvE missions all available at no additional cost. And now the game will introduce a seventh playable class, the Techmarine. As the name suggests, these battle brothers use the power of their machine minds to slay their enemies.

In a new blog post about the update, game director Dmitry Grigorenko explained some of the Techmarine's abilities. From the sounds of things, the new playable classes may be too overwhelming. Fans on Reddit were also amazed at some of the things Techmarine can do.

The Techmarine in Space Marine 2 sounds like overkill.

In a new Xbox Wire blog, Grigorenko detailed what the Techmarine can bring to the battlefield. The main role of the class is area denial and crowd control. While the Vanguard and Assault classes get their hands dirty, the Techmarine ensures that enemy hordes don't overwhelm them.

Armed with the Omnissian Ax, Techmarines are lethal at short and medium ranges, but their enhanced armor makes them a threat to enemies at long range as well. This all sounds great, but it's the mounted servoguns that truly change the direction of the fight when the Techmarines intervene.

Space Marine 2 captures the atmosphere of Warhammer, and it's impeccable.

“Activate by pressing the Y button to fire the Techmarine’s mounted servo guns and rain down divine vengeance on your enemies with powerful fire,” the blog post says. “No need to aim. Watch Tyranids and Thousand Sons evaporate before your eyes.” That's not all. The Techmarine can also perform a Gun Strike on its own while attacking other enemies.

One Reddit user asked in disbelief, “Did I read correctly that his servo gun basically automates gun attacks?” “God, I'm already intrigued by this class, it just keeps getting better. I wish there was a technical marine perk or weapon perk to help give me more gun attacks so I could really utilize it,” said another.
