Pokémon was one of the last major IPs that Lego failed to collaborate on due to the Pokémon Company's toy brick deal with Lego rival Mattel. That deal has now expired. That means we'll soon be getting our first Pokemon Lego sets, and now we know what some of the debut sets will look like.
Lego's Pokemon page has officially gone live, revealing the three debut sets, and as expected, there are significant differences in price and part count. The headliner, of course, is LEGO Pikachu, which comes in 2,050 pieces and costs $199.99. If you don't want to spend that much money, there's the $59.99 LEGO Eevee Recreation. But if you really want to splash the cash, it turns out the rumors about a $650 Lego Pokemon set are true.
The first LEGO set of Pokemon is here
Yes, if you have $649.99 to spare, you can buy a set of Pokémon that basically celebrates Gen 1's fully evolved starters: Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. There are 6,838 sets. Ranked alongside some of the greatest LEGO sets of all time, it's available for pre-order now through the LEGO Store along with the Pikachu and Eevee sets. All three works are scheduled to be released on February 27, 2026. To fans of the series, it is better known as Pokémon Day.
Pokemon went ahead and created one of the legends: ZA's least popular mega evolution turned into a plush toy
If you like Mega Starmie, you can't hate Mega Dragonite.
There's a fourth set of secrets you may have missed, and there's good news and bad news about them. The fourth Pokemon set released by Lego is a badge collection. These are the eight badges you need to collect in the original Pokemon games. With only 312 pieces, you'd think this would be the cheapest set of the four released, but that's not the case.
LEGO's Pokemon badge is only available to those who pre-order the $650 set
The LEGO Pokemon Badge Collection is provided as a free gift with purchase. This means it's technically free. That's good news. The bad news is that you have to buy something to get this “free” gift. Previous GWPs tied to the IP typically came with that set or were tied to a cash amount, but the only way to get LEGO's Pokemon badge is to pre-order the $650 Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set.
