Solo leveling is incredibly popular around the world. A lot of Solo Leveling's success comes from one character: Seong Jin-woo, the series' protagonist. Like most MCs, Jinwoo started his story very weakly. It has already been evaluated as weak even among E-class hunters, the weakest among hunters. But the events of Double Dungeon changed everything for him. In the end, Jinwoo was chosen and given the ultimate power to level up.
With this ability, Jinwoo gained skills to grow and become stronger.. Meanwhile, all other hunters were trapped in the awakening level. The Solo Leveling creator has confirmed big plans for a new sequel series.
As revealed by the original author, there may be a new sequel about solo leveling.
Seong Su-ho will be the protagonist of the solo leveling sequel, ‘Leveling Alone: Ragnarok’. Su-ho is the son of Jin-woo and Cha Hae-in, and like his father, he has excellent fighting skills.
Su-ho inherits Jin-woo's power and becomes the next Shadow Lord.. Nevertheless, it is not a 1:1 copy of Jinwoo. Suho stands out greatly in his own way. Unlike his father, Suho relies more on the people around him. For example, he can create shadow weapons to give to his companions.
Through this, fans believe that Suho is not only Jinwoo's replacement, but also a superior version of Jinwoo in many ways, and a better protagonist for solo leveling.
Fans hope that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok will also be adapted into an anime someday. Of course, this won't happen anytime soon, but if solo leveling remains as popular as it is now, it's almost guaranteed that this sequel will become a reality in the future.
Seong Su-ho's Solo Leveling: Is Ragnarok Adventure canon?
-
Solo Leveling Ragnarok is set in an alternate universe.
After Jin-woo's story ended, Seong Su-ho took over, but fans often wonder if his story is canon at all. After all, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok wasn't written by Chu Gong. Solo Leveling Ragnarok is a work written by a different author named Daul instead of the original author, Chu Gong.
My mother always used to say that I was becoming quite similar to my father… but how was my father able to escape this feeling of helplessness…?? ~Sung Soo-ho
It's true that they have different writers, but Chu Gong approved this project and actually considers it canon to his story. But there is an important problem. Chugong confirms that Solo Leveling Ragnarok is canon, but is simply fan service. It is not set in the same verse as his original story. That said, solo leveling Ragnarok is canon as an alternate timeline in the series.
“Ragnarok is a spin-off created for fan service. I was curious to see how other writers would write Solo Leveling. The story is part of the Solo Leveling universe, but not a direct continuation of the main plot. It's more like one of several possible scenarios, similar to Marvel's parallel universes. Of course, I'm also considering the possibility of writing a sequel myself.” — Chugong
In the original solo leveling world, Jinwoo might not have a son named Suho. But for now, until Chugong makes another sequel, Ragnarok is the best and only fans of the sequel will get it.
