Lords Of The Fallen 2 boss responds to Nightreign plagiarism accusations

Even the most ardent defenders of Lords of the Fallen 2 have to admit that the game isn't entirely original. Yes. Although it may claim to be carrying the torch for soul lovers, this is a game that wears many of its inspirations on its sleeve. Some would argue to an almost harmful degree. It looks like Dark Souls, and publisher CI Games can't deny that.

With so many similarities to From Software's work, it was always likely that developer Hexworks would eventually cross the line, and many thought so when the new characters coming to Lords of the Fallen 2 were revealed. This character is apparently called the Crescent Host and sports gray armor trimmed with blue cloth. You can find the full image below, and if you're already thinking it looks like a certain character from Elden Ring Nightreign, you're not the only one.

Soon after Lords of the Fallen 2 revealed this handsome figure, comparisons were immediately made to Nightreign's character Wylder, who can be seen in all of the game's promos and cover art. Not only does he have fairly similar armor, but he also wields a greatsword on his shoulder, which is also Wylder's preferred weapon. The coincidences keep piling up, but that's it, according to Marek Tyminski, co-founder of CI Games.

After seeing both Wylder's comparisons and the plagiarism claims, Tyminski posted what he claims is proof that CI Games had already come up with the design before Nightreign's official announcement. Not only did he claim that the character's armor was completed well before the game's announcement, but the completed model was also put into the engine just a few months later. He went on to say that CI Games “Copy other studios.” And he respects all of FromSoftware's work.
