For a surprisingly affordable price, fans can purchase a complete minifigure of Sonic, the main hedgehog, and a life-sized brick-built vehicle directly inspired by Sonic. Sonic Racing: Crossworld. Also directly inspired by Sonic Racing: CrossworldThis set features well-realized versions of Silver and Knuckles' in-game vehicles, as well as minifigures to capture their appearances. What adds even more value to this set is that this is the first official LEGO version of Silver the Hedgehog to be released.
$39.99 for a 378-piece set containing just two minifigures might not sound like the best LEGO deal ever, but it's a significant improvement over previous LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets. For example, 2025's LEGO Knuckles vs. Dr. Eggman Egg Crusher Mech (77005) offered two minifigures and 350 pieces for a much higher retail price of $44.99.

Such is the case with the two LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets. For decades, LEGO enthusiasts have used a per-piece price system to determine the value of LEGO sets. While these per-piece price assessments aren't always accurate, given the high licensing fees and the inclusion of special minifigures and printed parts, they're still a solid, simple indicator of how a LEGO set's price compares to that of other sets in that theme and beyond.
On a purely per-piece price basis, the upcoming LEGO Sonic Speedster Lightning is the best value LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog released to date, with a PPP value of 7.9 cents. For reference, the LEGO Sonic set with the highest PPP value prior to this set was the 2024 LEGO Shadow the Hedgehog Bust, which had a PPP value of 9.7 cents.
