Although it hasn't reached the same peak concurrent player count as it did when it launched a year ago, Marvel Rivals, despite its many problems, remains one of the most popular games, averaging nearly 100,000 players per day on PC alone.
That said, imagine if NetEase partnered with DC Comics and Warner Bros. instead of Marvel, and the likes of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Plastic Man were all fighting, skins like Kingdom Come Superman were being sold, and the biggest emote was a stupid thing The Flash does.
I need more Sonic
As Justice League heroes, Sonic's team has tremendous potential.
Imagine no more. One creator has put together some concepts for what a DC rival could look like, and it's pretty awesome.
At this point, DC fans will likely be able to get whatever they want about the game's content.
AnGrey, a creator who specializes in concepts, has revealed some of his own artwork for the DC rivals via Twitter, including some cool key art for the hyperstylized looks of the Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman rivals.
But the concept doesn't end there, as AnGrey has decided that Superman and Wonder Woman will be Vanguard characters and Batman will be a strategist.
Oh, and don't forget the skins. That's because the creators took the original designs and modified them to fit different, comically accurate looks. This is similar to Rivals' poor combination of two features.
Of course, no DC team is complete without the rest of the Justice League, so Aquaman, Green Lantern, and the Flash were also included in the follow-up art. Both Aquaman and Flash will serve as duelists in this fictional world. Meanwhile, Green Lantern joined Batman on the strategist side.
And yes, it is. They too have skins including the Reverse Flash outfit that should be released with this concept.
Overall, this is an amazing concept with a ton of work done to help it click within the parameters NetEase set with Marvel Rivals, including class roles and comical-looking but still armor-based costumes.
Really the only shame in all of this is that it doesn't exist. And considering the recent game options DC fans have had to contend with (Gotham Knights or Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League), it's a shame this didn't come out.
