Akatsuki is one of the most well-known organizations in the anime community. The black cloak with red clouds has become iconic, even for anime fans who haven't seen it yet. naruto I can recognize the costume. Akatsuki became popular because of its members and the way it was run.

Naruto: 29 Best Villains, Ranked

From rogue ninjas to terrorists and even alien creatures, Naruto's best villains are in a league of their own.

In Naruto, the story primarily focused on Yahiko's Akatsuki, which was founded during the Third Ninja War. The group's goal was to prevent Amegakure from being destroyed. After Yahiko's death, Nagato took power and Akatsuki took a different approach. Although both iterations of the group had numerous members, there were several powerful Naruto characters who could join Akatsuki and take it to new levels.

This post contains spoilers for Naruto.

madara uchiha

Affiliation: Hidden Leaf, Uchiha Clan

  • Has the eternal Mangekyo Sharingan

Madara Uchiha is a legendary leader who led the Uchiha clan to the highest level of power during the Warring States Period. Although he seemed like a decisive and cruel man on the outside, he was quite the opposite. Madara Uchiha hated war and loved his brothers. After losing everyone, he wanted to create a village where everyone could live in peace and where no one would lose a sibling or loved one.

Unfortunately, Madara was corrupted by Black Zetsu, who constantly whispered in his ear that he had been betrayed. Someone like Madara (before he met Black Zetsu) would be a perfect fit for Yahiko's Akatsuki. Especially because he knew the pain of losing someone close to him.

Shisui Uchiha

Affiliation: Hidden Leaf, Uchiha Clan

Uchiha Shisui injured

  • You have connected to Kotoamatsukami.

Uchiha Shisui was a loyal subject who served the Leaf Village for many years. He worked hard to maintain peace in his village and even kept watch over his own tribe members. Shisui was also a major source of inspiration for his successor, Itachi. Shisui Uchiha was a phenomenal warrior who had access to Kotoamatsukami, arguably the most powerful genjutsu in Naruto.

Naruto: 8 Most Impactful Deaths, Ranked

The Naruto series has featured some truly unforgettable deaths, but some have arguably been more impactful than others.

Shisui also mastered the Body Flicker technique, making it very difficult to track his movements in battle. A peace-loving person like Shisui would have been a great addition to Akatsuki. He could have helped increase their influence in other regions and helped save innocent people from war.

Haku

Affiliation: Land of Water

Naruto and Sasuke vs Haku 2

  • You can use the rare Kekkei Genkai, Ice Release.

One of the biggest complaints fans have about Haku is that he was introduced too early in the story. He was an amazing villain with an interesting past and a rare Kekkei Genkai. Haku was born in a village whose residents despise Kekkei Genkai users. When they found out about Haku and his mother, they killed the latter.

Haku barely survived, but was eventually captured by Zabuza and turned into a weapon. Although Zabuza did not show any feelings towards Haku, the latter respected the former Kirigakure ninja and was willing to give his life to protect him. Haku's loyalty was a rare attribute, allowing him to prove his worth by joining any version of Akatsuki.

3

Neji Hyuga

Affiliation: Hidden Leaf, Hyuuga Clan

Neji Hyuuga, a Naruto character who was able to join Akatsuki

  • A genius who mastered the Byakugan

Many fans might be surprised to see Neji's name on the list. Especially when he served as a Jonin of the Hidden Leaf until his death. However, there was a good chance that a Byakugan genius could easily join Akatsuki.

A collage of three of Sasuke Uchiha's cleverest strategies: the founding of Hebi/Taka, the second Cursed Seal transformation, and the Magnificent Costume: Susanoo Technique.

Naruto: 8 of Sasuke's smartest strategies

In addition to being a powerful ninja, Sasuke has always been good at coming up with a plan to overcome his enemies.

Because Neji was born into the Hyuga clan, he was abused by the clan. A curse seal was forcibly placed on his head, and he was forced to continue to obey the head family. Neji had good reason to hate his main family, and if someone in Akatsuki had taken advantage of that hatred, the organization would have gained a powerful warrior.

2

Zabuza

Affiliation: Hidden Mist Village

Kakashi vs Zabuza from Naruto

  • One of the Seven Swordsmen of the Fog

Zabuza's case is not much different from Haku's. Like the latter, Zabuza had the misfortune of debuting early in the story, which not only made him look weak, but also caused fans to quickly forget about him.

Although Zabuza worked alone, he joined Akatsuki with Haku, and the two could then team up. They had elite chemistry and could easily have been antagonists later in the story.

1

Gaara

Affiliation: Hidden Sand Village

  • Was he a Jinchūriki with a single taste?

If you look at Gaara from Naruto Shippuden, no one would think that he is the same person who almost destroyed the Leaf and killed several people in the Chunin Exams. Naruto deserves a lot of credit for Gaara's development. Because his speech changed him.

But if Gaara had stayed the same, he could have easily joined the Akatsuki and it would have made sense in many ways. First, Gaara was severely abused by his father and the villagers. Second, his father tried to kill him several times. In the end, Gaara was betrayed by the only person who cared for him. Considering he had been through so much, there was no reason not to join Akatsuki and seek revenge.
