Say goodbye to Diablo 4's longest-reigning metaclass and welcome a new overlord.

Diablo 4 We recently released a shortened season 11, Season of Divine Intervention. The accompanying patch made many important changes. Diablo 4's crafting system, including how Masterworking and Tempering work, while adding a new sanctification tier to make great items the best they can be. But it could be argued that the most important and least advertised part of Season 11 is the addition of Uber versions of the Lesser Evils and the new Paladin class. This class is already a fan favorite for its flavor and gameplay.

New bosses, reworks of core crafting mechanics, and entirely new classes all call for massive meta changes, and that's exactly what happened. Diablo 4 In Season 11, there was a somewhat clear meta regarding which classes were best to choose and which builds were most effective for clearing endgame content. Spiritborn was especially good in season 10. Probably because it benefits from Chaos Armor more than other classes and builds. D4This is Pete. Now, after so many years, Season 11 is no longer the Kingdom of the Spiritborn, but the Paladin reigns supreme.

Diablo 4The best Paladin build isn't just about a few skills. That's because the kit for the class is overall great and allows for incredible variety. Judgment builds are currently best suited for taking out bosses and common enemies, but skills like Advance, Blessed Hammer, Blessed Shield, Divine Lance, Consecration, and Zenith are all fantastic options to build for the endgame. This alone gives the Paladin more replay value compared to the Spiritborn, who has a few great builds like Evade and Crushing Hand, but doesn't bring much variety to the table.

Being the newest toy to play with, the Paladin is the clear winner of Season 11 as the kit is more versatile. Diablo 4The Aura Paladin build can even clear end-game enemies and high-tier pits by simply walking around without using any weapons. This is a fun spin on the now classic Evade Spiritborn.

Renowned Diablo 4 player and content creator Wudijo's so-called Auradin build requires the Dawfire unique armor.

Diablo 4The Spiritborn's build has dominated the game since the new class was released with Vessels of Hatred, making it even more refreshing to see another class take the crown in Season 11 ahead of the Lords of Hatred expansion in April 2026. The Evade Spiritborn build has been great for well over a year, so maintaining that greatness while making room for completely new and fun builds is something the game needs a lot. Because there's been a lot of hype lately about the new Druid. The build is released.

Paladin vs. Spiritborn in Diablo 4: Which is Better?

Why You Should Play Spiritborn in Diablo 4 Season 11

Here are the main reasons why Spiritborn is currently a metaclass and has been for a long time.

  • Diablo 4Evade Spiritborn is an easy to use and fast endgame clearer.
  • The different Quill Rain Spiritborn builds created each season are consistently strong, fast, and helpful for good positioning.

  • Spiritborn has some great guaranteed aspects: Diablo 4It is highly accessible and stable.

  • The Spiritborn is a tried and true class that generally doesn't change much throughout the season, so it's a fantastic choice for your first character in any given season and can easily make for one of the best builds in the game.

  • Spiritborn has a unique power fantasy not found in other classes, focusing on spirit animals and their guidance.

Why You Should Play Paladin in Diablo 4 Season 11

However, the new Paladin has the potential to be on par with the Spiritborn, if not outright superior. Here's why:

  • Paladin's Arbiter of Justice Diablo 4 Even though this skill's bonus movement speed was recently nerfed in patch 2.5.1, it can make slower classes significantly faster.

  • The Evade Paladin build exists and is a very powerful alternative to Spiritborn.

  • Paladins have an easier time activating “passive” builds like Holy Light Aura and Thorns. Diablo 4Spiritborn requires more build-up to achieve the same or less effective results.

  • The Paladin is a naturally bulky class with self-healing options in a variety of skills such as Consecration and the Rite of Salvation upgrade from Fanatic Aura.

  • The Aura Paladin build provides an incredible alternative to the minion builds of Necromancers and Druids with wolf-related aspects, buffing allies while weakening and damaging enemies.

Ultimately, both classes have their pros and cons, but there's no denying that Paladin has generated a ton of hype. Diablo 4’s present and future, creating more than a dozen meta builds that outperform not just one or two, but every other option in the game. This doesn't mean there aren't outliers, as the Mage's Crackling Energy build and the Rogue's Deathtrap are built accordingly. Diablo 4. But it's understandable that Paladin is the new, shiny thing and is quickly becoming a fan favorite, dominating the meta.
