Elden Ring Nightlane's Scholar Class Abilities
The Scholar's abilities have not yet been officially detailed by FromSoftware, but Elden Ring Nightreign: Forsaken HollowThe latest character trailer shows off the new Nightfarer in action and leaves plenty to speculate about.

Elden Ring NightlaneThe Scholar character trailer opens with Nightfarer swinging his staff sword against Godrick's soldiers. This wand sword looks slightly different from the one found in . Elden RingHowever, the base game has a silver grip and appears to use a thrusting attack set rather than the straight sword-based moveset that staff swords typically have. This cane sword also seems to have a dodge mechanism built into it, allowing the scholar to dodge the soldier's two swings with a backstep.
After a few shots of the Scholar taking a well-deserved break in his round table hold, the trailer gives fans a glimpse into the Scholar's abilities in action. A white circle appears in front of the scholar's vision, and the four enemies visible within the circle are tagged with dark clouds of smoke emanating from their bodies. It seems to be some kind of debuff that slows down enemies.
To clear out hordes of enemies, the Scholar throws what appears to be a throwable pot of lightning that explodes twice, possibly hinting at the new Nightfarer's passive ability. The final scene of the trailer shows the Scholar engaged in a fierce battle with Nightlord Libra and his small army of summoned clones. Here, the Scholar uses his ultimate ability to seemingly link enemies together, causing any damage taken to one to be shared by all. It also appears that the scholar's alliance is connected during this final period, but it is unclear what effect this has on the team.
How Elden Ring Nightreign's Scholar Class Can Shake Up Your Team Dynamics
everyone's Elden Ring NightlaneThere are eight Nightfarer classes, but none of them can be considered true 'support' classes. Recluse can use magic and Revenant can rely on summons, but both, like other Nightfarers, place damaging enemies at the forefront of their playstyle. Scholars of Forsaken Hollows, on the other hand, appear to have an ability set focused on supporting their teammates, such as slowing down enemies in front of them or chaining enemies together so the squad can take them down more quickly.
Build the ultimate Elden Ring Nightreign scholar team
Of course, we don't know who will get along well with scholars. Elden Ring Nightlane's DLC is out next week, but there's already a Nightfarer combination that feels like a match made in heaven. night laneIroneye will always be an essential member of the team, and his ranged attacks will no doubt work well with Scholar's enemy-linking ultimate, as will Wylder's ability to rush towards enemies and quickly take them out.
