Call Of Duty Black Ops 7 Overview Season 1 DLC Content

If you have any doubts about how much Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will shake off its initial controversy following its November 14 launch, just take a look at the plans for Season 01. It includes new maps, modes, weapons, and even a lot more freebies than previous rumors had suggested.

As explained on the Call of Duty blog, Season 01, scheduled for release on December 4, will feature six new multiplayer maps, including a remaster of Standoff, and eight new multiplayer modes, many of which are fan-favorite “party” modes like Gun Game and Sticks & Stones.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's campaign was the worst I've played this year

Black Ops 7's single-player campaign is a waste of time.

Zombies, Warzone, and Extraction mode “Endgame” are all getting updates, and they're just as massive. Perhaps most interestingly, all players will receive the “Replacer” operator skin for free.

A subsection of the blog reads, “As a token of our gratitude to the community, at the start of Season 01 we will be gifting everyone who owns Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 a replacement Operator wearing the original black suit and a Black Ops “7” pin on his lapel.”

Specifically, last year with Black Ops 6, The Installr bundle was sold for 2,400 COD points, or the equivalent of $19.99 USD. Because it's free now?

Any way you shake it, this is a very important update, and one that COD will almost certainly need roughly 10 days after release.

Sorry Between the campaign and AI usage, Black Ops 7 was a mess

Until launch, Black Ops 7 was almost always going to face an uphill battle. Especially when it came out before Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders and became an instant hit. But the latest COD titles haven't been kind either.

Black Ops 7 released and became the worst user-reviewed game in the franchise's history, scoring a 1.6 rating out of 2,795. Things aren't much better on Steam, where the title is “mostly negative,” with many pointing to the game's campaign as a big part of the problem.

This does not include the franchise's continued use of generative AI for in-game assets. The situation has gotten so bad that one U.S. lawmaker called for regulations to help protect real artists.

The sales side isn't much better, given that Battlefield 6 took COD's lunch money in Europe, and the game suffered a terrible launch in Japan as well. With all this in mind, it's no wonder why the game punches above its weight in Season 01. Whether it paid off or is just another misstep in one of the worst COD releases in recent memory remains to be seen. Either way, it's clear that Activision is working hard.

Arc Raiders should have at least been nominated in this GOTY category.

Arc Raiders sound design is fantastic. It's a real shame it didn't win any awards at this year's Game Awards.
