This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
saint. Figarland Garling is the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights and one of the Five Elders. one piece. Garling was promoted after Saturn was killed by Imu in the Egghead arc. At the time, Garling was the champion of God Valley, so the promotion seemed like a good thing.
This nickname indicates that Garling was the biggest winner of the God Valley Incident, one of the most important events in One Piece history. of course, one piece Fans wondered how Garling earned the title. Fortunately, Oda revealed all the details about the God Valley incident in Loki's flashbacks.
15 years later, Eiichiro Oda sets One Piece's greatest revenge story.
Oda has set up One Piece's biggest revenge story, and it all has to do with One Piece's Blackbeard.
Figarland Garling was not the true champion of God Valley.
He did almost nothing during the God Valley incident
-
Garling is beaten by Xebec in God Valley.
-
Garling likely received that title because he was so popular.
In a flashback, it is revealed that Garling fatally wounded Shanks and Shamrock's mother. In addition to attacking the children's mothers, Garling also hunted innocent people in God Valley. He murdered them in cold blood because he wanted to win the competition and get Shakky as the prize.
Garling's only serious fight at God Valley came against Davy D. Xebec. Before the battle began, readers were expecting Garling to fight the pirates well. However, it ended rather quickly as Xebec put Garling through the wringer. Garling's humiliating defeat meant he failed at the first hurdle, which was quite shocking.
After being beaten, Garling did not fight anyone else. Instead, he reappeared when Xebec had already been defeated by Roger and Garp. He, along with Maffey and Sommers, identified Xebec and dealt the final blow to the pirates. With Xebec's death, the God Valley Incident came to an end. The World Government was humiliated by the pirates, so it decided to cover up the truth.
Almost all evidence regarding the existence of God Valley has been erased and the truth has been manipulated. Garp is credited with stopping the transformed Xebec. Meanwhile, Garling was given the title of champion of God Valley despite making precious little contributions.
Garling will be one of the final villains of One Piece
As previously mentioned, Garling is promoted to the position of Gorosei by Imu, implying that they trust him. Therefore, Garling will have an important role in One Piece's Final Saga. As of now, there is no indication that he will be involved in the Elbaf arc, so he may be involved in the next arc or Oda may save him towards the end. Garling may have to fight Blackbeard at some point, as he was the one who dealt the final blow to Xebec.
Blackbeard's relationship with his father is still unclear, but he seems to be planning on getting revenge on everyone who wronged him. For example, he went after Ochoku, who betrayed the Rocks Pirates and delivered Shakky into the hands of the World Government. Blackbeard ousted Ochoku and took control of Hachinosu, which Xebec frequently visited. This incident indicates that Blackbeard knows everything related to his father, or at least the important things. Fans shouldn't be surprised by Blackbeard's knowledge of history. Because Oda revealed that Yonko likes research. Since Blackbeard deals with historical records, he must also know about his father's past.
Blackbeard seems to be aware of Xebec's desire to take over the world. When Saturn asked Van Augur about the crew's plans, the latter replied that they wanted the world. At the time, it seemed like Blackbeard just wanted to be king of the world, but a key detail in Loki's flashback changed things. In a flashback, Xebec referred to Imu as the world itself. Connecting the dots makes it clear that Blackbeard wants to oust Imu and take over. But Blackbeard won't make any decisions all at once. He is a cold, calculating man who weighs the pros and cons and makes decisions. Let's hope Oda reveals Blackbeard's goals soon.
