In case you missed it, this year's annual Call of Duty entry, Black Ops 7, is officially here. Unfortunately, the situation surrounding Black Ops 7 couldn't be more negative, from “mixed” reviews on Steam (thanks to the sub-campaign) to sales, especially in Europe, where Battlefield 6 ate Call of Duty's lunch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's campaign was the worst I've played this year
Black Ops 7's single-player campaign is a waste of time.
But for those playing Black Ops 7, things aren't as they seem. decent, Some people are actually enjoying the game. Case in point: this fan who discovered that the “Imprint” map, one of the 19 available BO7 maps, was actively tracking the number of times players fell off the map and unfortunately died.
As first shared on Reddit, there is a “Falls Today” counter that goes up each time an in-game fall is recorded. As one user pointed out, there is space for up to four digits. This means that Treyarch and Co. have planned an absurd number of falls, but it seems like no one has tested the counter yet.
“Laughs? Now I have the urge to check it every time.” one user wrote on Reddit.
same!
This isn't the first map-related Easter egg in recent Call of Duty history.
When Black Ops 6 released last year, the “Vault” map, coincidentally another Treyarch title, had a fully functional diving board. At the time, TheGamer wrote: “Just like jumping off a real diving board, pressing the jump button on the edge will send the player character on a journey into the sky.”
“Our design team continuing the rich tradition of functional diving boards in Cold War era Miami. ;),” a verified Treyarch developer wrote on Reddit.
Initially, many people used the diving board as a means of quickly killing unsuspecting enemies by jumping out of their line of sight. However, another user discovered that the diving board had enough power to hoist someone onto a balcony on a nearby building, allowing someone to easily escape the fight.
This is just one of the many types of Easter eggs that have been discovered throughout Call of Duty's history, and whether positive or negative, they continue to exist.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 solves the series' biggest multiplayer problem, but no one cares.
Skill-based matchmaking may be gone, but it doesn't seem to have done the trick to attract players to Arc Raiders.
