Guide to Choosing an Equitable Arrangement

One of the late game quests The Outer Worlds 2 A ‘fair agreement’ that determines whose side you should be on to help control the archive. It's easy to side with Auntie's Choice or The Order just by increasing the reputation of your chosen faction, but getting the two factions to work together is much trickier. Not only do both sides have difficult issues that are non-negotiable, but the two sides could be locking themselves out of cooperation before they even get a chance to start discussions. Here's what you need to know to use Auntie's Choice and The Order together. The Outer Worlds 2.

How to get Auntie's Choice and Negotiate Orders in The Outer Worlds 2

Ruth Vassar The Outer Worlds 2 Fair Settlement

Just because Aunt Cleo and Ruth want to sit down and come to a mutual agreement doesn't mean they'll just do that. For the two to work together, you first need to check a few other requirements.

  • Don't let your representatives get killed by De Vries at Greater Tranquility Station.

  • Complete faction quests to increase your reputation and gain the trust of each leader.

The first method is relatively simple. As long as you don't mind getting a little blood on your hands. If you can't convince De Vries to scrap her assassination plan, you can kill her to prevent one of your agents from being killed by her.

Completing faction quests is also relatively simple, and is part and parcel of the main quest line as you try to access archives and process rift data. Eventually you will speak to high-ranking officials from both sides who will be tasked with completing various missions on their behalf. If you succeed in this task (which is very simple), you will eventually be given the opportunity to talk to both Auntie Cleo and Ruth Basar.

Don't take on the Protectorate of the Archives on your own. If you do so, you will not be able to proceed any further.

Convince Aunt Cleo and Ruth to negotiate

During your conversation with each person, you should choose the option that suggests that you should cooperate with each other. Aunt Cleo will be happy to start a discussion, but Ruth will need audio confirmation to convince her. In my conversation with her, I used the following conversation options to convince her that it was a good idea.

  • Deputy Levin expressed his desire to resume negotiations. I think he is right.

  • I think you are a wise leader, Bishop. Be smart enough to see the potential benefits here. (Speech 7)

  • I am sure. I want Auntie's Choice and Order to work together.

  • I will do whatever it takes to get an audience with her.

An order to work together with all negotiation options to convince the lady of her choice.

2 Correct choices in an equitable arrangement of the outside world

Save your game before getting off the elevator to the conference room and entering the negotiation room. This makes it easy to come back to it if you want to see how things could have gone differently (or how choosing a different conversation option would change the negotiation).

Below I've listed the exact dialogue options I used to convince both sides to cooperate. This may not be the only option for persuading the two, but it should provide a clear path for the two to work together to earn the 'Corporate Cooperation' achievement/trophy.

  • I can see why we need a neutral third party here.

  • Let's take a look at it. What does it take to make this partnership happen?

  • The most important thing to decide first is who will have control over the archive.

  • Ruth is right. The Templars built an archive. It belongs to them.

  • It doesn't have to be forever. What is a small sacrifice now for a bigger gain later?

  • You're a corporate genius, aren't you? I'm sure you'll figure something out.

  • I don't agree. Nothing in life comes for free. Auntie's Choice must oversee production.

  • It's a crazy idea, but could Order and Auntie's Choice share technology?

  • Better than getting stabbed in the eye!

  • Now you are speaking. I enjoy a few “chemical cocktails”. (Ex-convict experience required)

  • But now it's your aunt's job, Ruth. You two are working together.

  • This device you mentioned doesn't seem very secure.

  • What are the chances of this being successful? You might have run the numbers.

  • That's your decision, Ruth. If you are prepared to pay for it, who am I to object?

  • I'm really glad the two of you were able to reach an agreement.

As mentioned above, this never only How to get Auntie and Ruth to work together. However, it does not require a specific level of skill to achieve. Aside from the ex-con background dialogue chosen for fun (which doesn't seem to change the conversation anyway), this is a great and easy way to convince two people that they need to put in some effort to agree.
