Wild Jackman divorce joke in new movie

Hugh Jackman appears to have completely gotten over his divorce — and there's even a joke about it in his new blockbuster movie.

The Australian icon split from Deborra-Lee Furness in September. The couple announced their split after 27 years of marriage and two children.

Since then, Jackman has rarely mentioned his marriage. Deadpool vs. Wolverine It seems like the actors' breakup was hinted at quite blatantly.

In one scene, Reynolds' character teases Jackman's character: “He doesn't usually wear a top, but since the divorce, he's been letting himself go.”

Given that the film doesn't feature Wolverine getting a divorce, it's clear that Jackman was happy to joke about Reynolds' real-life divorce in a Marvel movie.

Furness made the comments after first discussing her post-divorce life in April.

She said Page 6 “This has been a year of evolution for me,” she said, adding that while the past few months have been “scary,” she is “grateful” for this new chapter.

It comes after Jackman took to social media to deny reports that he was planning to return to Australia.

“STOP THIS CRAZY!!! Yes, we moved. To a new apartment. In NYC,” he wrote on Instagram Stories in response to the claims. “Anything to the contrary is not true.”

Jackman and Furness met on the set of ABC TV series Corelli in 1995 and married the following year in Toorak, Victoria. News of their split came as a huge surprise, but the duo have long been regarded as one of the most powerful couples in showbiz.

The couple announced in a joint statement that they had grown apart and decided to separate.

In a joint statement obtained by People magazine, they said, “Our journeys are changing, and we have decided to separate to pursue our own personal growth.”

“Our family has always been and always will be our top priority. We begin this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”

Jackman praised Furness in a sweet social media post to mark their 27th wedding anniversary, which is scheduled for April 2023, just months before the couple split.

“I love you Dev. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 years!!” he wrote alongside a photo of them in love.

“Together we created a beautiful family. And a life. Your laughter, your spirit, your generosity, your humor, your cheek, your courage, your loyalty are incredible gifts to me. I love you with all my heart.”
