One man's trash is another man's treasure, or vice versa, as is the case with anime characters. demon slayer Some characters appear more frequently than others, but fans are often divided on which characters to dislike. This list may be largely a matter of opinion, but many viewers and readers who have watched the series for a long time seem to particularly dislike the following seven characters for a variety of reasons, whether it's their behavior or simply their personality or character design.
kaigaku
Part of the Twelve Kizuki and a former demon slayer, Kaigaku was once a senior disciple of Zenitsu under Jigoro, who was Thunder Hashira. Proving that anyone can fall from a great height, the character encounters the powerful demon Kokushibo during a mission and saves his life by surrendering rather than fighting back. This cowardly choice is something many people would make in the face of untold danger, but it's Kaigaku's character that rubs fans of the series the wrong way. As it turns out, he never wanted to kill demons or protect people. He just wanted to gain status and have a place to lay his head at night.
Despite being extremely arrogant and overly confident in his abilities, Kaigaku is a coward at heart. His selfishness and hypocrisy when it comes to judging the strength of others causes his fan base to outwardly despise him. He has zero empathy and a distorted idea of right and wrong, and those who criticize him are labeled as evil. Overall, Kaigaku has very few redeeming qualities despite his fight with Zenitsu. infinity castle It's a blast to watch.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Speaking of Zenitsu, his character has faced an uphill battle since the beginning of the series. A demon slayer and close friend of Tanjiro and his crew, the blonde utilizes his thunder breath in battle, resulting in some truly epic and memorable encounters both on the small screen and in the comics. Loyal to a fault and street smart, he later proves himself a worthy companion on and off the battlefield. As one of the show's main characters, he gets a lot of screen time, which unfortunately can make matters worse.
Although the traits listed above are positive points, Zenitsu's personality and on-screen persona have drawn a lot of criticism online. His constant whining is a constant source of irritation and frustration in the world. demon slayer fandom along with his womanizing and obsession with Nezuko. Additionally, his cowardice and profound pessimism hindered some of the early anime episodes. He's seen a fair amount of character growth, though. infinity castleIt may take more time for his popularity to increase in the future.
Kyoko
A skilled creator can create a character that evokes nightmares just by appearing on screen. For many fans, that's what Gyokko achieved after first appearing in the third season premiere of . demon slayer. Another member of the Twelve Kizuki, his bizarre physiology and ability to regenerate in the most bizarre ways possible made an immediate impression, but his overall lack of plot and lack of powers prevented him from receiving much attention. More importantly, his character left much to be desired and many viewers viewed him as one of the most evil demons in the series.
The strongest demons in Demon Slayer
There are several powerful demons present in the Demon Slayer anime. This character is the most dangerous.
Kyoko, who has absolutely no interest in killing innocent lives in her desperation to please Demon Lord Muzan, is sadistic, arrogant, extremely selfish, and has a completely warped sense of beauty. When he was still human, he thought the corpses of his parents were beautiful, so he killed animals and skinned them to use as works of art, and eventually murdered a child in his village, storing the corpses in a vase. Overall, Gyokko could simply be called 'disgusting' and it's easy to see why many fans of the Demon Slayer would prefer to keep their distance.
Rengoku Shinjuro
Rengoku Kyojuro is still a beloved character, but demon slayer The same can be said about the franchise, his father Shinjuro. The former Flame Hashira boasts none of the traits seen in his heroic son, and is instead found to have an inferiority complex and an extremely short temper. To make matters worse, he is also a violent alcoholic who takes little interest in his son's heroics until Tanjiro captures his heart. He once believed in the core tenets of the Legion of Demon Slayers, but later became a shell of his former self.
Shinjuro's rough personality is a clear reason why many in the fandom dislike him, and his flaws become even more evident when comparing him to his son. Kyojuro is very cheerful and kind, demonstrating honor in battle and always trying to protect the weak at any cost. Viewers were especially surprised to see Kyojurō respecting his father despite how much pain he caused him.
cutting board
Sometimes the devil has a pretty face and seems like a very good friend. One of the most powerful demons in the series, Thomas has been the leader of the Eternal Heaven Faith since he was a human, and the cult continues to worship him with reckless abandon. Everything about Doma's personality – friendly, energetic and eager to give advice to his followers – is actually a complete lie and the man is actually a complete psychopath. He actually preys on members of his cult, believing that by accepting them into himself he is saving them from a lifetime of suffering. The devil loves to hurt people, including himself, which makes him especially dangerous in any situation.
Lacking the ability to feel emotions and skilled in strategy, high-ranking members of the Twelve Kizuki use their sharp fans to summon ice and fog, making the battlefield more dangerous. Thomas is the culprit of several major murders in the series, and once this was revealed, viewers viewed the villain with newfound hatred and disgust.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi, Genya's older brother and Taisho era Wind Hashira, immediately angered viewers by questioning Nezuko's decency, even attempting to tempt her with his own blood to drive her berserk and give in to her demonic tendencies. It didn't really matter because his personality seemed extremely rude and abrasive to almost everyone. The reason behind his actions makes the situation a little easier to swallow, as Sanemi has lost many of the people he cares about and is starting to push people away. That doesn't make him any less frustrated.
9 Things Demon Slayer Does Better Than Other Shonen Anime
Demon Slayer sets a new standard with its unique villains, combat, and storytelling.
As if his anger issues and poor interpersonal skills alone weren't enough to earn him legions of haters, Sanemi's treatment of his brother drew even more outrage from the fandom. He undoubtedly cares deeply for Genya as she appears later in the series, but is incredibly cold towards him during her start in the Demon Slayer Corps. In the end, his attitude is Sanemi's biggest downfall.
Muzan Kibutsuji
Potentially the only likeable thing about Muzan is his character design. Everything else is pure, unadulterated evil. The Demon King is jokingly called 'Devil Michael Jackson' by many fandoms, but he has no empathy or courtesy and even scares his subordinates. Muzan was transformed into a demon nearly a thousand years ago as part of an attempt to cure his terminal illness. From then on, his goal was true immortality, and nothing would stand in his way. Ruthless and painfully threatening, he feels no real value to anyone but himself.
There are many reasons why viewers hate Muzan, aside from him being the biggest villain of the entire franchise. Maybe it's his narcissism, maybe it's his sadism, maybe it's his two-faced nature, maybe he's cruel, but whatever it is, it's hard to feel any sympathy for this supreme villain.
