Kaido, who was considered the strongest pirate at the time, was a force to be reckoned with, and was certainly a scourge powerful enough to push Luffy to his limit. In fact, Oda has already revealed a number of incredibly powerful villains who surpass Kaido in overall power, and some of them are even stronger than Luffy.

Akainu
Akainu He is currently a Fleet Admiral in the Marine Corps and one of the main antagonists of the series. In the Paramount War, he stood as one of the greatest obstacles Luffy faced and was primarily responsible for the death of Portgas D. Ace. Luffy and Akainu have a huge rivalry, and at some point they will face off again in the Final Saga. Akainu's bounty was recently revealed to be worth 5 billion Berries, showing the level of threat he poses.
Akainu, being saved for the Final Saga, automatically becomes stronger than Kaido, given that he is one of the main antagonists of the story. He has the power of Magu Magu no Mi, which is one of the most destructive fruits in the entire series and can annihilate the majority of individuals. Additionally, he is also a very powerful user of Haki, and as the years have passed, his power has likely only grown. When Luffy and Akainu end up clashing, he'll likely be more than a match for Gear 5, and it'll be very interesting to see how he compares to Kaido. To keep the story moving smoothly, everything indicates that he has become stronger overall.

five elders An incredibly powerful individual also known as the Warrior God of the World. They are none other than Saint Immunerona's direct subordinates, and as such, they have an Abyssal Pact with them. This not only gives them immortality and the power of regeneration, but also prevents them from aging completely. The Five Elders also possess unique abilities such as Yokai powers, granting them immense power. Plus, they all seem to use powerful Conqueror cards. All of this combined would make the Five Elders a rival to the Emperor, most of whom would be much stronger than the likes of Kaido.
Even though Luffy had no choice but to run against the Elders, the fact that he was able to defeat Kaido is proof that they are stronger. Even using Conqueror's Haki, Luffy couldn't inflict any lasting damage on them and had to run. Moreover, the same Red Lock that made Kaido bleed on his back only injured Luffy's fist when he fought Walkuri. The five elders haven't even unleashed their full powers yet, and they are already superior to Kaido.

Gunko (possession)

Gunko One of the main antagonists of the Elbaf arc. one piece. She is a member of the Holy Knights, which means she must make a Deep Sea Covenant with Imu. However, considering the fact that Imu gives her special value, she may also have the Abyssal Covenant, which would make her equal to an Elder, just like a member of the Holy Knights. Gunko can act as a vessel for Imu, and can exert tremendous power when possessed. Gunko's power is such that she can essentially destroy an entire country in the blink of an eye, which is what makes her truly special.
She can harness the power of Aro Aro no Mi, but beyond that, she can use the Grimoire of Imu to use a variety of spell-based abilities that can take out just about anyone.
Even a strong individual like Luffy has no chance of facing her in battle on his own at the moment, which shows that she is much stronger than Kaido. With Imu's power, Gunko can also perform Domi Reversi Kaido, a dark possibility, especially after witnessing what happened to the Rocks in God Valley 38 years ago. There is no doubt that the Gunko possessed by Imu is much stronger than Kaido.

Shamrock Figa Land

Shamrock Figa Land is a new character that Oda recently introduced in the final story of One Piece. He is Shanks' twin brother, but the two brothers are separated by fate. Shanks was captured by the Roger Pirates, but Shamrock was raised by the Celestial Dragons and was thoroughly evil. Shamrock also has the same level of skill as Shanks, and is said to have signed a deep-sea contract with Immu. In other words, Shamrock has as much talent as Shanks, but also has immortality and regenerative powers. His strength is enormous, and in the Elbaf arc he is depicted as being stronger than Loki. This alone makes Shamrock stronger than Kaido.
If he is close to Shanks in terms of power, Shamrock will destroy Kaido in battle. His true worth has yet to be revealed by Oda, but he has been teased as one of the strongest characters in the entire series. Oda even highlighted Shamrock as one of the key players in the Final Saga to find One Piece, and it will be interesting to see what role he will play in the main story going forward.

black beard One of the main antagonists of One Piece's main plot and a descendant of Davy Jones. He wields two powerful Devil Fruits: Yami Yami no Mi and Gura Gura no Mi, both of which are known to be the strongest in the Logia class and Paramecia class, respectively. Blackbeard also has a very powerful Haki and it goes without saying that he is stronger than Kaido.
The Devil Fruit can nullify any other Devil Fruit, and its attack power is enough to destroy the world. There is absolutely no rivalry between these monsters, and his true worth will be revealed as the story progresses.

Sovereign of the world, Imu Much stronger than most of the villains Oda revealed in the Final Saga. Imu has been active for hundreds of years and has ruled the world as the sole monarch. Their power is beyond current human understanding, and it goes without saying that Imu is stronger than Kaido.
In fact, for Imu, defeating Kaido would not be a big deal at all. The difference in power between these two characters is absolutely enormous, and even if Kaido throws everything he has at Imu, it's not enough to take them down. For Imu, defeating Kaido will be a light task, just like it was with Rocks D. Xebec in God Valley 38 years ago.
