My Hero Academia It may be Deku's story, but the members of Class 1-A play a big role throughout the story. Some characters, like Bakugo and Todoroki, have major roles throughout, getting their time to shine and contribute at key points in the story. Other members of Class 1-A also play supporting roles.
Each member of Class 1-A has their own unique personality, but one character that has been incredibly divisive among fans from the beginning is Mineta. Mineta's personality may rub some fans the wrong way, and compared to his other classmates, he is not very interesting both as a character and in his idiosyncrasies. Although he wasn't the main focus throughout the series, I can't help but think that Horikoshi would have been better off giving a little more attention to these characters.

Masirao Ojiro
Even among the colorful characters that make up Class 1-A, Ojiro's design really stands out. Despite being one of the most visually striking members of the supporting cast, Ojiro is quite reserved, remaining in the background for most of the series.
From what we see of him My Hero AcademiaHe is a great martial artist and his Tail Quirk makes him great in close range combat. However, Ojiro doesn't get much time to shine on his own, often being part of the group and playing a supporting role. He may not be a strong enough character to take on a role similar to Bakugo, Todoroki, or even Iida, but it would have been nice to give Ojiro a big moment like the one he got with Kirishima in the Hassaikai City arc.
Mezzo Shoji
Shoji is one of the most visually striking members of Class 1-A. He had his moments, but I felt he had the potential to be a really interesting character. But for whatever reason, he didn't make enough progress.
Shoji's heterosexuality was touched on a bit in the series, but it was a topic that Horikoshi felt like he could have done more with. We've seen some of the discrimination that xenomorphs face. My Hero Academia It exists in the world, but it often felt like an issue that took a backseat to other story threads. Some fans have criticized Horikoshi's handling of the variant narrative, but it would have been nice if he had spent a little more time on development.
Jiro Kyoka
Jiro is definitely one of the most popular supporting characters in the series and one of the most well-known members of Class 1-A. Although she can be quite aloof, she gets along well with most of her classmates and has been shown to be incredibly trustworthy when it matters most.
Jiro's love of music makes her stand out among her peers, and her earphone jack quirk comes in handy several times throughout the series. until the end my heroWe learn that Jiro achieved success as a professional hero and musician while also helping Eri on her musical journey. She may not have received much attention in the main series, but Jiro would be a great choice to lead a light-hearted spinoff one day.
Mina Ashido
Mina may not be one of the most prominent Class 1-A members, but she definitely stands out among the rest of the supporting cast. Her optimistic attitude and cheerful attitude always brightens up any scene she is in, and she has been shown to be one of the most important students when it comes to raising the morale of Class 1-A.
In addition to being a fun and happy character, Mina has also shown some great qualities that show her incredible potential as a hero. She is brave and willing to put herself in danger if it means helping others, and has good chemistry with her classmates, making it easier for them to cooperate and work together. Mina has had some great moments in the series, but it wouldn't be surprising if most fans wanted to see her do more by the end of the series.
Hagakure Toru
Hagakure was the most overlooked member of Class 1-A for most of the series. Class 1-A has a lot of unique personalities, so it would have been difficult to give everyone a moment to shine from the beginning, but the simplest explanation for why Toru didn't really stand out has to do with her Quirk.
Hagakure's Invisibility Quirk made her an easy character to forget, as fans didn't see her most of the time. Sure, she was portrayed as somewhat recognizable thanks to her costume, but she often felt like a background character until later in the series. It would have been nice if Toru had been given a little more time and development, if only to better shape the roster in Class 1-A.
Teamfight Vertical
Sero was one of the most entertaining Class 1-A members, appearing as an important member of the group throughout the series, but not having much opportunity to shine individually. His Tape Quirk may not seem like the most overpowering one in the series, but he uses it very creatively, and Horikoshi himself has stated that it is one of his favorite quirks.
Sero had a lot of potential to stand out in his own right, but he never got the attention and development he needed. That doesn't mean he's a bad character. He felt he needed to have more body than he had.
